Filling The City with more beautiful buildings

Ever since day 1, we have been on a mission to fill the city with more colorful, experience based environments. One of our favorite avenues of our brand is creating public art for buildings. Personally, LA’s design and architecture is very modern and drab and we’re here to add a splash of contemporary color and complete chicness to the exterior facades of buildings.

Take the iconic instagramable Mecca in West Hollywood; the pepto-bismol pink Paul Smith Building on Melrose Ave held by Litchmann Trust / Walden LLC + Altemus Company. In recent past sightings, especially during the LA riots, the beautiful facade has took a beating of vandalism to her facade.

In order to stop the vandalism we decided to brighten her up with a new look to make graffiti tags impossible to see and to become an icon in LA once again.

Also, we’ve added an ultraviolet light concept so at night the colorful design on the building glows. Not only does this design cancel out the opportunity of graffiti, but this public art concept would establish this building as first of its kind and become a strong landmark in Los Angeles.

It’s a known fact that public art increase a buildings value by 15%. Previously low-income neighborhoods in New York such as Chelsea, Lower East Side and Harlem, are neighborhoods with the most murals in the city and neighborhoods where gentrification has hit the hardest. Artists are now getting requests to paint new murals there because landlords think it will attract new richer tenants and keep away graffiti that usually chases them off. The market value of the building in Chelsea sporting two Eduardo Kobra murals painted in 2012 has increased from $880,000 to $2,075,000, and a real estate agent Michael Rosser says the murals contributed 15% to the growth. He says the murals often act as an added benefit, especially if they are placed in the focal point of the neighborhood.
