TOGETHER AS 1 - tech&art

AND THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER…

Tech and Art is an unlikely couple that not many expect together. But like most iconic pairings, opposites attract. This particular art installation is like none other I’ve seen before, where programmers and artists came together to create a spectacular over Seoul to spread awareness and messages of hope due to the the recent outbreak of Covid.

I was fortunate enough to learn about drones as a medium of art thanks to my good friend Roy. While we continued to think of crazy ideas, he explained to me, in not so lamen terms of how it can be accomplished…basically taking the Electric Light Parade to the skies. Mindblown

For this installation, hundreds of drones have lit up the night sky in the South Korean capital, Seoul, for a spectacular showcase of motivational and awareness messages as the fight against the coronavirus pandemic continues.

Three hundred unmanned aerial vehicles were programmed to form images above the Han River on Saturday night, displaying messages of key precautionary measures including wearing masks, washing hands and keeping physical distances.

The 10-minute show shifted to messages of gratitude for medical personnel in the front lines of the pandemic as well as all South Koreans for their collective efforts.

In the coming future, you will see more drone writing in the sky. A dazzling and environmentally friendly way to share a message…maybe we can even redesign a 4th of July experience one day or even a wedding. My brain is brimming with ideas.

Leave a comment below of what you’d like to see displayed in the sky!
